We offer spray tans in both Automated Booth as well as Custom Handheld (by Michelle). Please check with each salon for the service you are interested in. We also offer Mobile Spray Tans in your home, hotel, gym, or on location. Please contact the salon for more information, pricing and availability.

Island Glow was the first Mobile Spray Tan Company servicing the Central VA area since 2010. Michelle continues to offer mobile spray tans, individually as well as in groups on Thursdays 630-830p. Mobile spray tans start at $75 with a 50% deposit required when booking. You will be given a full refund if cancellation is received 48 hours prior to appointment. No travel charge within 20 miles of the Woodlake Salon.

How to achieve the Perfect Spray Tan
​Shave and Exfoliate well the night at least 48 hours before the day of your tan. You can shave the morning of your spray tan. Be sure to wait at least 4 hours after your shower before your spray tan.
​
Do not have lotion or oily residue on your skin the day of your tan because it can create a barrier to the spray tan. Remove makeup and deodorants prior to your tan.
​
Make sure to get manicures, pedicures, waxing or spa treatments before your appointment. If you are getting a pedicure immediately before your tan, we suggest asking them to not use lotion on your legs.

You can wear as much or as little as you’d like during your tanning session. If you choose to bring a swimsuit, underwear, or other garments during your session please know that bronzer will get on these items. Bronze will wash out of clothes but we suggest wearing dark clothing. We provide disposable undergarments free of charge. Many of our clients choose to tan topless to minimize tan lines. Our staff is professional, discreet and will do their best to make you feel comfortable during your session. ​
Be sure to bring loose fitting, dark colored clothing and flip-flops to wear after your session. Tight clothing can rub off the bronzer and create streaking. If it is raining, please wear loose pants, a jacket and bring an umbrella.

DO NOT GET WET for at least 4-8 hours after your appointment based on your spray tan artist's advisement. You must not SWEAT, SHOWER, GET RAINED ON, or SWIM. If you get wet, it can halt the DHA development process and cause streaking.
​
When you shower will notice ‘tan’ running down the drain during your first shower. This is normal…it is the cosmetic “instant bronzer” washing away as it is designed to do, leaving you with a beautiful bronze glow underneath!
​
Use only a lukewarm rinse shower after your spray tan, using only water, for about 1-2 minutes until the bronzer has washed off (water turns clear). Do not use any soap, shampoo, shave or exfoliate during this rinse.
​
Be sure to MOISTURIZE after your first shower! The key to a beautiful, long lasting tan is properly hydrated skin. We carry a great selection of tan extending moisturizers that will preserve your color, extend the longevity of the tan and will not strip the color.
​
We recommend using our body wash for regular showers and shaving, followed up with our Body Butter or Lotion twice daily. This will deliver mega hydration to the skin making the tan color darker and last longer. Avoid products with alcohol and oil as they will strip your tan and create streaking. We also suggest applying our Tan Extender Lotion starting on Day 3-4 to lock in the dark color of your tan. You can keep applying every other night to extend the life of your spray tan.
